Collaboration with architect James Shackleton to create a mosaic bench for the London Festival of Architecture 2025. Entitled 'Middlesex Speaks' the design commemorates the old Middlesex Hospital on Mortimer street. All that remains of the Hospital is the gorgeous Chapel , embellished with rich gold and marble mosaics.
The bench shows the imposing front of the old building, as well as details inspired by the large paintings by Frederick Cayley Robinson that used to hang in the Hospital foyer (now in the Welcome Collection). It also features a portrait of the socialite and anarchist Nancy Cunard, who lived in Fitzrovia in the 1930s and was famous for her flamboyant Bohemian style.
The bench was located on Mortimer Street at the top of Newman Street in the summer of 2025.
